There's a Bug on my Bug!
Wolf Spider with a Mite
There's a bug on my bug!

I caught this Wolf Spider on my patio, and took a few photographs of it before I let it go in the yard. I don't mind having wolf spiders on patrol outside to dispose of roaches, which they eat, but I don't like it when they sneak in the door.

Wolf Spider with a Mite
I noticed a small bump on the spider. Look for yourself. My Wolf Spider has a mite! I could have gotten a better picture of it, but I didn't want to hold the spider still for pictures. If I run across another buggy bug, I think I'll tug the mite off with tweezers and try for better pictures (now that I'm regretting this lost opportunity.)
