Brown Water Snake Nerodia taxispilota
My best guess on this tiny snake is that it's a Brown Water Snake, Nerodia taxispilota.

We found it in our yard when things were extremely busy; I took a few photos and let it go, thinking that where there is one baby, there are others, so I could find another later.

Later has long since come and gone... I'll spend more time photographing the next one I come across!
The tiny snake was fun to hold; it kept wiggling between my fingers, wrapping around them like a ring, and trying to squirm away.
