These slithery serpents were sunning in the swamp, and I happened to have my camera handy. They're both banded water snakes. (The top two photos are one snake, the second two another.)  Thank you very much Jerry for confirming my ID on these two; I wasn't sure.

I must admit, I was trying to get the snakes sniffing tongue in the photo, but it was so fast! When I looked at this picture of it slithering over the Pickerel Weed flower at full size, I was delighted:
