Tickseed Coreopsis
There are several species of Tickseed. I haven't looked up which mine is yet.

My tickseed is a slender lawn weed that grows about a foot tall. I sprinkled some seeds in the garden a few years back, and they were beautiful when they all filled in and the wind blew. They bowed in the breeze like little nodding heads.

The next time I find one in seed I'll spread some more seeds in my garden to see if my butterflies will use it. When it's in the lawn, it generally gets mowed before it flowers so I rarely see it in bloom.
