Virginia Peppeweed Lepidium virginicum
Pepperweed is a fun little plant. It has lots of flat oval... I'm guessing seed pods because the leaves are long and slender. The next time I one volunteers in my yard I'll get photos with better depth of field to share.
Once in a while it springs up in my yard or sidewalk, and no matter how careful I am to mow around it, my spouse always seems to notice it and pull it.
I have to transplant the next volunteer I get!
