Drymaria Cordata  
Once in a while the lawn looks silvery white on top of the grass:

Upon closer inspection I found Drymaria cordata plants mingled in with the grass causing the frosty look on the lawn.

I mowed it, so it's hard to say what insect might have used the tiny white flowers. I'll try to mow around a spot of it and remember to keep an eye on it to find out.
