Red Tassel Flower Emilia fosbergii
Emilia fosbergii, Red Florida Tassel Flower, is red, but when it is in full bloom the yellow pollen makes it look reddish-orange as you glance down at the tiny flowers.
Emilia sonchifolia is a very similar Tassel Flower, but it has purple flowers.
Up close, Emilia Fosbergii is a beautiful flower. This photo of the Julia Butterfly sipping nectar from it doesn't do it justice, but it shows that the butterfly uses the flower as a nectar source:
