I found these pink blobs stuck to the plants by a pond and took pictures because I wondered what they were. They're Apple Snail Eggs. I didn't bother to do much more research on them at the time, because I was busy chasing butterflies.

Then I started paying more attention to the Limpkins and other water birds by the pond. The birds keep leaving shells on my lawn that dull my lawnmower blades, but they're beautiful to watch.

Now that I've started paying attention to the birds, I'm more interested in their food, so I'll see if I can find some snail shells to photograph and add here. There are at least five species of Apple Snails in Florida; I wonder how many I can find...
