I'm still learning our hawks. This hawk on the right snacks on the
critters in my yard. The one on the left was at Green Cay being bothered
by Purple Martins, and the one in the trees was at the Wakodahatchee
Wetlands staying well out of camera range.
It was perched across the back field, and then flew toward the pavilion by the sidewalk:
It landed on the bushes in the corner between the end of the sidewalk and the pavilion:
Lenore, the one you and Don saw while I was there was a Coopers Hawk; I
finally got a photo of the tail and that gives it away. I'll have the
pix up here before I sleep tonight.
Make that some of the pix; here
they are. The hawk was sitting on the tree, and
a male Red-winged Blackbird started doing fast close flybys to chase it
away; it worked! (Oh how I wish for a better lens! This was way too far
away for me. Sigh... but I AM happy that I got it!)
