This cute little Palm Warbler was so small I didn't see it. My son
pointed it out and asked me what kind of bird it was.
A gentleman on the wetland boardwalk replied that it was a LBB, a
Little Brown Bird. I laughed, and went home and looked it up. I think
it's a Palm Warbler.
Another Palm Warbler posed on the
water lettuce for me:
...and then a few days later, while I was standing in front of a
Green Heron nest hoping she would
stand and show me her eggs, a
different warbler happened by, so I snapped pictures. I got three,
but then the little tricksters switched places and the rest of those
photos were of another Palm Warbler:
Yes, the two look quite different while you're sitting there comfortably
reviewing the photos, but when they're a dot in the camera lens, and
moving fast, and you're tweaking the camera settings and fine tuning the
focus as the little warbler hops in and out of the shadows...
With a quick hop, it turned around, and then it was gone.
...and then it was back in that here I am, here I'm not, catch me if you
can, warbler sort of way.
Speaking of warbler ways, they do lift their tails a lot, don't they? I
guess they want us to see how very yellow they are.
