Little Blue Heron
Little Blue Herons are small slate-grey-blue birds with blue and black beaks.

They walk through the wetland marshes, wading through the duckweed covered surface, stalking little critters to nibble on.

Juvenile Little Blue Herons can fool you the first time you spot one; they aren't blue.

I've seen them confused with both Cattle Egrets, which have shorter yellow beaks, and Snowy Egrets, which have black beaks nearly to their eyeballs where there's a bit of bright yellow.

Michael Iuzzolino took this photo of a Juvenile Little Blue Heron. Thanks  for letting me share it here Michael! (Ask your teacher if you get extra credit for knowing what this bird is. I've seen grown-ups with a bird-book in their hand unable to figure it out.)

Krystyna Barron took this next photo of a juvenile Little Blue Heron wading. Thanks for sharing it Krystyna!
