Wow, this Green Heron was one neat looking bird. It gazed intently at
the water, waiting for prey.
I liked this second picture, and if you like it too, you can
see a larger
version of it.
While these Green Heron fledglings were exploring the world around their
nest at Green Cay, this mommy Green Heron was still sitting on her eggs
at the
Wakodahatchee.
I'll keep an eye on the nest in the photo above and try to get pictures
of the babies when they hatch.
She finally stood up to give me a peek
at her eggs, but they were tucked too far down
in the nest to see them very well:
While I was waiting for the Green Heron to stand, two other Greens
had a bit of a quarrel, one flew to her nest, and she stood up ever so
briefly! Humm... do I photograph the eggs, or the fight? Sometimes it's
completely quiet, yet at other times there is so much activity you can't
decide which way to look.
