Black-crowned Night Heron
This Juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron flew past while Peggy was trying to find the hawk she'd seen to show it to me.

She mentioned that one was on the bank at the entrance a few days before,
and when I reviewed my pictures, sure enough, I'd photographed it but hadn't looked it up yet. Thanks for the ID on this one Peggy, the juvenile birds can be hard to identify when they look so different from the parents, and I didn't even know what the parent was.

This one flew in fast, and vanished into the shrubbery, but I'll keep an eye out for it and try to get better pictures.
