I noticed these beetles hanging out on a
Milkweed seed pod, and wondered
what they were doing there because they aren't
Milkweed beetles. Then they got busy.
I think they're Hyalymenus tarsatus bugs, but I reserve the right to be
wrong on that guess.
I saw another one on my
Cassia flower, but the day was breezy so I
didn't get many pictures. Some bugs are sort-of cute, and I'll pick them
up for better photos, but I'm not very interested in picking these up.
These bugs (right and below) are immature (aka nymphs.) See the tiny spots on the middle
segment that will become wings? The strange creatures sort-of look like
ants, but I think they're Hyalymenus tarsatus nymphs. The one on the
right was crawling on
a
Salvia plant, and the one below
was walking around on my
Elderberry.
