These elusive little hoppers have been hopping, and flying, away from me
for years, but I finally got them! This pair is not so happily paused on
my thumbnail. They're really little bugs.
This hopper was hanging out on a Corky Stem vine
So was the Leaffooted bug nymph
background; I had better luck photographing the nymph.
I was really excited about finally getting a good shot of one of these
green leafhoppers when this one was in my car one morning, but darn it -
I was on the way to work, it was dark, it was raining, the flash glared,
and I had to let it go and get on my way to make it on time. Once more
it was a bug
for a later day.
Then I found this bug, and while I prefer my bugs
alive, it's also
interesting to know what eats them. This Ambush
was kind enough to hold this green leafhopper still while I took
a few pictures of them.

...and then back to this pair which finally gave me enough
pictures of these tiny green leafhoppers to make a page about them. I think
that they're leafhoppers in the genus Gyponana.
