Grasshoppers
Very Big Florida Grasshopper

I've seen grasshoppers hopping here and there, but they usually hop elsewhere when I approach to get a picture.

Southeastern Lubber Grasshoppers, Romalea microptera
One rainy day when I can't go out to chase butterflies or photograph birds, I'll get back to figuring out which kinds of grasshoppers these are. Those little black ones were in a little mini-swarm. There were over 38 of them in a small area about a foot square. I haven't seen them since. I think they are Southeastern Lubber Grasshoppers, Romalea microptera.
