Steph's Virtual Garden: Soft Squishy Bugs
If it's underlined, click the bug photograph or name to see what I've found the bug doing. I hope you enjoy my bugs!
I've found too many bugs, so I've split them into bugs that crunch when you step on them, and bugs that squish. No, those aren't very technical terms, and I don't actually step on my bugs (except certain creepy bugs that sneak inside once in a while, and even most of those I catch and toss out the door) but the point of these thumbnail images of bugs is to make it easy for regular people like me to ID a bug at a glance, and to share what I've seen. Once you have a name, it's much easier to look up a bug. I'd be happy with a common name, but I've found that a common name often describes LOTS of different bugs. I've also found that bugs often look a lot like completely different, unrelated bugs. Oh the confusion of bugs. This will fill my idle moments for years! One little glitch is that the bug variety in my area greatly exceeded my expectations, and I haven't figured out what all of them are yet. I began with butterflies, and those were much easier! These images help me remember what I've found, and give me a place to show friends a bug when we discuss it, so bear with me. These pages are of my hobby, sort of like field notes, so if you really need to know what something is check with a more credible source. I hope you enjoy what's here, and have patience (or email me a bug name) with what isn't. So - here are the squishy bugs that I've found in Florida. I hope you enjoy visiting the garden with me. Flies:  Believe it or not, it can be hard to tell the difference between a fly and a wasp! It's a skill I'm sharpening slowly.

Didn't find your bug? Try my crunchy bugs page for bugs like beetles that crackle when you step on them.
I seem to be on an egg roll (ha ha) lately.  I'm not sure what all of the eggs are, and may never be sure of some of them, but they're interesting, so here they are anyway.  I think these dotted eggs might be green stinkbug eggs. Bug Eggs
