Every so often a Sora will step briefly out of the marsh plants, and quickly walk back out of sight beneath them again. A Sora below was out in the bright sunlight eating a frog, but it was quite far away from where I could walk with dry feet. I'm not going into alligator territory for a photo of any bird!
